TriBeta Chapter at AMU

TriBeta Chapter at AMU

The Department of Biology at Ave Maria University was recently approved for a TriBeta Chapter. The Tau Delta Gamma Chapter at AMU was established, complete with installation ceremony, on Wednesday, December 10, 2014.

Currently, 22 students and five faculty are members of the AMU Chapter. As members of TriBeta, students have access to national and local conventions, research grants, opportunities to present and publish research, as well as the distinction of belonging to an honor and professional society. Dr. Thomas Smith, Chair of the Biology Department, is the TriBeta Advisor at Ave Maria.

The Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society (TriBeta) was founded in 1922 as a society for students who seek to grow in their “understanding and appreciation of biological study” and to extend the “boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research.” Today, TriBeta has over 200,000 members and more than 670 chapters around the United States and Puerto Rico.
