I think all the freshman would agree that AMU provides many awesome great experiences through the events on campus. It’s amazing how many many diverse events have taken place in the last month. Every week there’s something cool and unique to do. This weekend alone there will be a pro-life talk in the Bean (with free cookies and coffee), a talk by famous screen writer Charles Sklar, a bonfire, the fall pep rally, a piano recital, a tailgate before the football game, the Ave talent show, and several athletic games. There is an event for everyone on campus. ALL THE TIME.
Going around campus this month, I saw some awesome looking flyers for something called ‘Screen on the Blue.’ It was pretty cool to learn that occasionally they play a movie in the waterpark (yes there is a waterpark in AMU) and serve free food for students. To the person who came up with the idea of showing Jurassic Park in the Water Park and serving dino nuggets -YOU’RE A GENIUS.
You read correctly, they served dino nuggets, and had awesome dipping sauces. Many students attended the event and had a blast. They went on the water slides (the most popular attraction that night), played water volleyball, relaxed in the hot tub, ate free food, and watched the movie. It was amazing to see how much an event can bring students together. Students from different sports teams and activities attended and had a great time. I was able to meet new people and strengthen the bonds with others.
The experiences you have at AMU are so unique that only Ave can give them to you because at AMU the little things really do matter. AMU values each facet and detail of your college experience. The intention of the events are for the students to have the best time possible. The events are all very well planned and thought out. I strongly suggest everyone goes to the events here because there is something for every single person. Don’t stop yourself from having an awesome time here at AMU. After all, the events are free and usually serve free food - there’s nothing to lose!
