In honor of today, the 215th anniversary of the birth of Blessed John Henry Newman, the Canizaro Library will have on display material from its Rare Books and Special Collections. The display, which is on view until March 15th, is filled with items taken from AMU’s own John Henry Newman and the Oxford Movement Collection. It features original letters written by and to Newman, a photograph of Cardinal Newman taken in 1886, a first edition of the Apologia Pro Vita Sua, and Elgar’s musical setting of The Dream of Gerontius, among many other items.
